Hi, my name is naivety and I manage dozens of streamers’ YouTube channels, from ideation to day to day operation. Every week I publish a few ideas I have forwarded to the creators I work with to inspire you to create better YouTube videos and turn your livestreams into a show!

If you struggle coming up with ideas for packaging or need someone to help direct your longform strategy, please contact me through the form at the bottom of this page or follow this link.

Reaction Content

Reaction content is pretty light this week as not too many ground breaking videos went up. Of course, it’s still not too late to check out last week’s roster of reaction videos!

Thanks to an internet archivist, we recently uncovered over 120 beta Pokemon designs from the Diamond and Pearl era following the purchase of a never-seen-before behind the scenes documentary. This is not a leak in any form, so you should not expect any legal action on behalf of Nintendo (although this is not legal advice). The documentary itself is also available to watch in its entirety in the description of the video, although it is entirely in Japanese and at the time of this writing, there are no English subtitles.

If you’re in any way related to the Minecraft community or if your viewers tend to enjoy speedrun content, the world record was recently broken by Skycrab1. Since the WR is below the 8 minute mark, it would be beneficial to pause and analyse different decisions made by the player. An interesting spin-off to this reaction video would be to try to beat the world record (and inevitably fail) following the world record video as a guide.

Gaming

As always, the following section showcases a series of new or revitalized titles that should lend themselves perfectly to livestreams, as well as shortform content.

The Mound is a cooperative horror game, where you each individually halluscinate different realities. This lends itself to a great costream and an even greater clip farming game for shortform platforms. You might find a musket, that turns into a stick, or maybe your friend turns into a zombie and you have to discern whether what you’re seeing is reality or if your mind is playing tricks on you. Plays up to 4 and is likely best experienced at that playercount.

Next up we have Machine party, a game by the creator of Gunshot Roulette, one of the best horror themed roguelikes has finally released. In this game you will be playing a collection of minigames in a similarly eery, dirty, and violent tone as the original game. Play with 4 friends for the best experience!

The final game in the list is what I would call a “soft recommendation.” This game is a decision based live action story game that has drawn a massive fanbase in China. Ludwig played the original game and had his videos uploaded to Bilibili, which gained enough attention from the local audience to gain a cameo in the second game, Road to Empress II. The reason this is only a soft suggestion, is because both games are tied to each other story wise and the main draw for the sequel is Ludwig’s cameo. If you are a creator who is not in a similar space with Lud, there are likely fewer reasons to play through 12 hours of gameplay for a youtube video. That being said, you know yout stream audience best!

YouTube Updates

YouTube recently released a new playlist format called Shows! This new format allows creators to list videos that were meant to be watched in an episodic series a cleaner new look. This is particularly important for TV viewers, who are one of YouTube’s biggest target demographics. You can create Shows the same way you create playlists (and in many ways the two are the same thing, with separate presentations), by hitting Create → New show on YouTube Studio.
